Cryptography and Information Security (CISec) group at Sabanci University is a multidisciplinary research organization specializing in various aspects of cryptography and information security. The group consists of faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students from computer science and engineering, telecommunications, microelectronics and mathematics programs.
As the information-processing and telecommunications revolutions now underway will continue to change our life styles in the rest of the 21st century, our personal and economic lives rely more and more on our ability to transact over the electronic medium in a secure way. The privacy, authenticity, and integrity of the information transmitted or stored on networked computers must be maintained at every point of the transaction. The use of security services will establish assurance and escalate trust in digital world in order to promote the transition to information society.
An integral part of our mission is to create a synergy across different disciplines in the solution of security problems of digital world. We envision combining and directing our cutting-edge research efforts to address the issues in all stages of secure system development. Our approach consists of three steps:
- Identification of security problems and their characteristics
- Solutions using cryptographic and non-cryptographic tools and protocols
- Cost-effective and convenient implementation.
